Focus and Scope

Javano Islamicus is a scientific journal that publishes original research and critical studies on Islam and society with particular attention to Javanese traditions and the wider Nusantara context. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary approaches in the fields of Religious Studies, Cultural Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, History, and Philosophy.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

• Islam and local wisdom in the Nusantara
